A Mexican native now residing in the UK, El Ligero is one of the countries most popular and talented athletes.
His unrivaled charisma and high flying skills have wowed fans all over the world, however it's his highflying and risk taking that has taken El Ligero away from the action.
In 2008 El Ligero dislocated his shoulder during a match but due to his never give up attitude continued the match and somewhat foolishly decided to continue to wrestle, even against advice from doctors and surgeons.
In May 2009 the inevitable happened and El Ligero re-aggrivated his injured shoulder and had no choice but to return to his doctors for treatment. It was during this visit that El Ligero was given the news he had been dreading.
An operation was needed and a lengthy rehabilition period would follow which in short meant El Ligero would be out of action for six to nine months.
El Ligero later made an announcement stating that he had no choice but to hand back his titles and to watch from the sidelines as other superstars continue to perform and new champions were crowned.
We all wish El Ligero a safe and speedy return to the ring and back home to RDW.
